Privacy Policy
📅 Effective: February 1, 2026
📄 Applies to: ambore.org
✉ amborenikhil46@gmail.com
The short version: Ambore stores your account info and resume data directly in your own browser — not on our servers. We use an external AI provider to generate content when you use our AI tools. We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. This policy explains everything in plain English.
Section 1
Who We Are
Ambore is a free AI-powered career platform available at ambore.org. It is owned and operated by Nikhil Ambore. Ambore provides tools to help job seekers find jobs, build resumes, write cover letters, generate professional emails, optimize LinkedIn profiles, create portfolio websites, and prepare for interviews using artificial intelligence.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, you can reach us at amborenikhil46@gmail.com.
Section 2
What Data We Collect
We collect minimal data. Here is exactly what we receive or store:
Information you provide directly:
- Account credentials — your email address and password when you sign up. These are stored locally in your browser's localStorage, not on our servers.
- Resume & profile content — work history, skills, education, and any other information you enter into our tools. This data stays in your browser unless you explicitly use an AI generation feature.
- Tool inputs — job descriptions, company names, messages, and prompts you type into any of our tools.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage events — basic events such as "page viewed" or "tool used" are sent to our analytics backend to help us understand which features are being used. No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
- Standard server logs — like any website, our hosting provider (Netlify) may log your IP address, browser type, and pages visited for operational purposes. We do not actively collect or use this data.
Information we do NOT collect:
- We do not collect payment information (Ambore is completely free).
- We do not collect social security numbers, financial information, or government IDs.
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to data brokers.
Section 3
How We Use Your Data
We use your data only to provide and improve the Ambore platform:
- To provide the service — your account info keeps you logged in; your resume data powers the AI tools.
- To generate AI content — when you use an AI feature (Resume Builder, Cover Letter, Interview Co-Pilot, etc.), the text you provide (resume, job description, prompts) is sent to an external AI provider to generate a response. See Section 5 for details.
- To improve the platform — anonymous usage events help us understand which tools people find useful so we can make them better.
- To communicate with you — if you contact us by email, we use your email address to reply.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing you with career tools.
Section 4
Data Storage & Security
Where your data lives: Your account information, saved resume content, and session data are stored in your browser's localStorage — a standard browser feature that keeps data on your device. This means your data never leaves your computer unless you actively use an AI generation feature.
⚠️ Browser Storage Warning: Because your data is stored locally in your browser,
any of the following will permanently erase your Ambore data:
- Clearing browser cache or "site data"
- Using incognito / private browsing mode
- Switching to a different browser or device
- Reinstalling your browser
We strongly recommend downloading or copying your generated resumes, cover letters, and profile data to a personal file (Word, Google Docs, etc.) after creating them.
Security: We take reasonable steps to protect the platform, including using HTTPS for all connections. However, no internet service is 100% secure. Since your personal data is stored on your device and not our servers, the main security of your account data depends on the security of your own device and browser.
Section 5
Third-Party Services
Ambore uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Anthropic (AI Provider) — When you use any AI generation feature, the text you submit (such as your resume or a job description) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic processes this data according to their own Privacy Policy. We do not store AI-generated content on our servers after it is returned to your browser.
- Netlify (Web Hosting) — Our website is hosted on Netlify, which may collect standard server logs including IP addresses. See Netlify's Privacy Policy.
- Railway (Backend API) — We use Railway to host our jobs API and anonymous analytics backend. Usage event data (no personal info) is processed here.
- Google Fonts — We load fonts from Google's servers, which may log your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes.
Section 6
Cookies & Local Storage
Ambore does not use tracking cookies for advertising or analytics. We use the browser's localStorage feature (not cookies) to store your account session and saved data. localStorage is different from cookies — it is not sent to our servers with each request and is not accessible by other websites.
Our hosting provider (Netlify) may set essential cookies for security and performance purposes. These are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
You can clear your localStorage at any time through your browser settings under "Clear Site Data" or "Cookies and Site Data." Note that doing so will log you out and erase your locally stored data.
Section 7
Job Listings & External Sources
Job listings displayed on Ambore are aggregated from publicly available sources including LinkedIn, Indeed, USAJobs, Adzuna, The Muse, Remotive, and others. When you click "Apply" on a job listing, you are directed to the employer's or job board's website. Those sites have their own privacy policies and terms of service that will govern your interaction with them.
Ambore does not track which jobs you apply to, and clicking "Apply" does not share your data with us or the employer.
Verify Before You Apply: Job listings on Ambore are scraped from external sources and may occasionally be outdated, expired, or duplicated. Always verify a listing on the original job board or employer website before submitting your application or personal information.
Section 8
Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data:
For users in the European Economic Area (GDPR):
- Right to access — you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure — you can request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to rectification — you can correct inaccurate data.
- Right to object — you can object to certain processing of your data.
- Right to portability — you can request your data in a portable format.
For California residents (CCPA):
- Right to know — you can request disclosure of the personal information we collect.
- Right to delete — you can request deletion of your personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information. There is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Because most of your data is stored in your own browser's localStorage, you can exercise many of these rights directly by clearing your browser data. For any other requests, contact us at
amborenikhil46@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Section 9
Data Retention
Since your account and resume data is stored in your browser's localStorage, it persists until you clear it or we close the service. We do not have a copy of it on our servers to delete on your behalf.
Anonymous usage event data collected by our analytics backend is retained for internal purposes and does not contain personally identifiable information.
If you email us, we may retain that correspondence for reasonable record-keeping purposes.
Section 10
Children's Privacy
Ambore is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at amborenikhil46@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete it.
Section 11
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes that affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as a notice on the Ambore homepage).
Continued use of Ambore after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
Section 12
Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your personal data, please contact us:
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 30 days.
Section 13
AI Accuracy & Limitations
Ambore uses AI (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to generate resumes, cover letters, interview answers, LinkedIn summaries, and other career content. While our AI tools are designed to produce high-quality output, you should be aware of the following limitations:
- AI Hallucinations — AI models can occasionally generate plausible-sounding but inaccurate information, including fabricated achievements, incorrect dates, or invented experience. Always review AI output carefully before submitting it anywhere.
- Generic Output — AI-generated content may sometimes be generic or not perfectly tailored to your situation. We recommend personalising the output to reflect your authentic voice and specific experience.
- Complex Layouts — AI may struggle to perfectly replicate complex resume formats or niche industry conventions. Treat AI output as a strong draft, not a final product.
- No Professional Advice — AI-generated career content is not a substitute for advice from a qualified career coach, recruiter, or HR professional.
Always review AI output before submitting. Never send an AI-generated resume or cover letter without reading it first. Verify that all facts, dates, and claims are accurate and truly reflect your experience. Remove anything that sounds robotic or doesn't sound like you.
Section 14
Best Practices for Users
To get the most out of Ambore and protect yourself, we recommend the following:
- Review AI Output — Never submit exactly what the AI generates. Read through it, fix any errors, and add your personal voice before sending to employers.
- Manual Backups — Download or copy your resume, cover letters, and profile data to Word, Google Docs, or a personal folder. Do not rely on browser localStorage as your only copy — it can be erased at any time.
- Anonymize Sensitive Data — Avoid pasting your full home address, national ID numbers, or other highly sensitive identifiers into AI tools. Add sensitive details back manually to any documents after generating them.
- Check Job Links — Always click through and verify job listings on the original employer or job board site before applying. Scraped listings can be outdated or inaccurate.
- Use It for Inspiration — Ambore's AI tools are excellent for generating first drafts, keywords, and structure — especially for LinkedIn profiles and cover letters. Add your personal voice, unique achievements, and industry-specific language to make it truly yours.
- Keep Your Profile Updated — The more accurate and complete your profile is in Ambore, the better your AI-generated content will be. Update it when you gain new skills, roles, or certifications.
